VinFast hires former Volkswagen executive as new global CEO

The previous government of Volkswagen Group America, Michael Lohscheller, has been appointed the brand new CEO of VinFast International as a part of the automaker’s technique to promote its autos internationally.

Lohscheller will lead VinFast International to broaden in Vietnam, the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, aiming to show VinFast into a worldwide sensible electrical automobile firm, in keeping with an announcement by the Vietnamese automaker.

His participation in VinFast’s senior administration group reaffirms its guardian Vingroup’s long-term plan in attracting excellent skills and buying administration experience from elite circles of the worldwide automotive business, stated Thuy Le, Vingroup’s vice chairwoman.

Lohscheller stated: “I look ahead to working with the management group to develop the corporate and set up it as a worldwide sensible electrical automobile firm.”

He has greater than 20 years of expertise within the automotive business, having been the chief vice chairman of Volkswagen Group America, and later CEO of German automaker Opel Car GmbH within the final 4 years.

VinFast, established in 2017, is the primary fully-fledged automaker in Vietnam. The corporate is about to launch its first three electrical automobiles this 12 months with plans to promote them in Vietnam, North America, and Europe.
