by WHAM – (WHAM) – Within days of heeding the urging of city officials to remove plywood from its windows, the owner of a restaurant said Friday the windows of her building were smashed overnight.
“We have to protect ourselves,” said Brown earlier this week. “We have people that depend on this business.”

Earlier this week, city officials asked her to take down the boards, citing safety concerns in case of a police or fire-related incident. Brown agreed to comply and took down two board Thursday.
On Friday morning, Brown posted on her restaurant’s Facebook page, saying two of the windows had been smashed and the place had been robbed.
A spokesperson for the City of Rochester said they have offered grant support to help repair damages and increase security.
“No fines have been issued nor has any punitive action been taken against this nor any other business for boarding their windows over the past six months,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
