Resolutefp – The 26th edition of The State of Canada’s Forests: Annual Report 2016 provides a national snapshot of Canada’s forests and forest industry. With a focus on sustainable forest management, the report describes Canada’s rich forest resources and our success in managing them sustainably.
Canada’s forests contain 47 billion cubic meters of wood made up of different tree species across 347 million hectares of forested land – the most prevalent being the mighty spruce!
Canada’s National Forest Inventory identifies which tree species make up most of Canada’s wood volume, and where Canada’s fastest and slowest growing forests are located. Sustainable forest management depends on knowing how much wood is in Canada’s forests.
